I'm so thrilled to share these photos with you! Kristen is an amazing woman who I was lucky enough to get to meet four years ago when we started working together. August of 2012, we set out on a little adventure to capture some photos for her graduation announcements. She had just completed her Master's from CNU in teaching and was about to venture into a new season of her life as an elementary school teacher. We decided this August to go back to the pier where we had taken her photos the year before, to show some outward changes that have taken place, amazing changes! I'm so proud of her, but thankfully, she is still the same sweet friend she has always been. We also checked out some new locations, spent a few minutes in some FREEZING cold water, and got some amazing shots! Check out this beautiful lady!
Vandiver Grandkids | York County, Virginia
This past weekend I headed over to Diann's to get a few pictures of all of her grandchildren together. These kids are pros! I didn't have to pose a single one! (Ignore all the sweat - it was hot and they just got done doing what kids do best, having fun and running around!)
Haughton Maternity | Yorktown, Virginia
I am so excited for Alex and Lauren - I am beyond excited for Alex and Lauren and I praise God everyday for getting them to this point in their lives. For years this couple has dreamed of a child of their own to hold and love and raise, and for a few years now this has been a struggle. Lauren gave birth to their daughter Kendall on our wedding day at around 20 weeks (I'm not too certain the exact week). It was a sad day, this precious little one would never get to experience this world and experience the love her parents have for her and these parents would never get to watch her grow up, teach her how to sing her ABC's or how to ride a bike. But God, as amazing as he is, saw them through that trial, allowed all of us around them to be there for them, and here we are today as they prepare to welcome their second baby girl, Kaylee Grace into this world. I have been praying and holding my breathe constantly, anxiously awaiting the arrival of this little girl and I am honored that I was able to capture these photographs of this growing little family. I love you Lauren and Alex, and Kaylee Grace!!
Paul and Erika | Yorktown, Virginia
Let me introduce you to Paul and Erika, two dear friends of ours. They are a lovely couple, full of life and . . . very photogenic! The other day I met up with them at Yorktown Beach to take one photo for their Adoption Fundraising Campaign (visit http://speight-family.blogspot.com to learn more about it!) and we ended up taking a few more pictures to fill some empty frames Erika had hanging up. I'm so excited to see where God takes them in life in the next few years, to see the baby/child he gives them and so much more!
Parolisi Maternity | Yorktown, Virginia
I am so excited for this session! Last Saturday I met up with Mike and Rebecca in Yorktown along the battlefields and town, to capture some pictures of their growing little family! With their little man's arrival coming up, it was now or never for maternity photos. I enjoy working with Rebecca as well, she knows exactly what she is looking for and while sometimes that can be a bit of a challenge as a photographer, it worked out really well in this case! She sent me a Pinterest board of ideas that she liked and it really helped me to get in the mindset for the shoot and figure out how to incorporate these ideas into her and Mike's personalities.
I was so thankful that Lauren tagged along for the adventure. She helped with carrying some of the props and holding jackets and throwing them back right after the shots were done . . . it was FREEZING!!! Beyond freezing! It was pretty darn cold! I felt sorry for the two of them since some of the shots were on the freezing cold ground. But here is a look at some of the pictures from that day!

The Steele Family | Yorktown, Virginia
This past Memorial Day weekend, I met the Robyn, Brandon and Micah at Yorktown Beach to take a few family photos. Robyn is the sister of a dear friend of mine, Erika, and her little boy Micah is beyond adorable! He didn't want to walk on the sand in his shoes because he was worried it would ruin them! It was a fun little session, very hot, but so much fun! I think this setting was the perfect place for this military family, the colors, the water, the adorable flag Micah brought along. Here are a few pictures from the session.

Grandmom Franks' 90th Birthday | Personal
Sunday we celebrated Grandmom Franks' 90th birthday party! Zatha and Ted set it up so the entire Franks family, near and far, as well as all of Grandmom's loved ones could be there to celebrate with her at the Riverwalk restaurant in Yorktown. The Franks' clan is beyond lucky to have such a wonderful woman in their lives, she truly loves her family and she was beyond excited to have everyone there to celebrate with her . . . and seeing them all in their derby hats!

Yorktown Adventure | Personal
I took advantage of this beautiful weather (the calm after the storm) and went to Yorktown with little Miss Sassy Pants to get in some camera time for a school assignment. It was a fun adventure and of course, it started with a trip to Plaza (that girl can down some guacamole!). I had the intentions of taking Hailey to explore Colonial Williamsburg, but Yorktown seemed like a better idea since it was closer. Besides myself as a child, I have never seen a kid so excited to find canons and hidden canons in the trenches. We wandered around for a few hours, Hailey got a history lesson and we snapped some pictures for my assignment . . . Hailey even got a chance to work the camera (meaning I trusted my new camera to a six year old!).
