The Ward Family | Williamsburg, Virginia

This past weekend Nick and I went up to Colonial Williamsburg with some friends of ours, Demetrius and LaTina to take some family pictures of them and their children, Gabby, DJ and Jordyn. It was a beautiful afternoon, but due to some scheduling conflicts earlier that day, we weren't left with very  much sunlight. We made the best of it though! And we brought Maggie along, which was not the wisest decision - she wasn't too fond of the cannons! Anyways, I was able to get some great shots of this wonderful family. I'm so thankful that we have them in our lives, they are such a joy to be around! Here are some shots from our afternoon in the Burg.

Meet the Staff of Hauser's Jewelers

This past Thursday I spent the morning with the fabulous staff of Hauser's Jewelers taking some new group and individual photos for their website and upcoming catalog. They are such a great team to work with and they are all so amazing!! Amy made this shoot so easy as well. We met the week before to discuss some ideas and her vision, and she made sure everyone was ready to go so we could breeze right through it before they opened. I can't wait to work some more with them in the upcoming weeks, but for now here is a little peek!

Kristen | Yorktown, Virginia

I'm so thrilled to share these photos with you! Kristen is an amazing woman who I was lucky enough to get to meet four years ago when we started working together. August of 2012, we set out on a little adventure to capture some photos for her graduation announcements. She had just completed her Master's from CNU in teaching and was about to venture into a new season of her life as an elementary school teacher. We decided this August to go back to the pier where we had taken her photos the year before, to show some outward changes that have taken place, amazing changes! I'm so proud of her, but thankfully, she is still the same sweet friend she has always been. We also checked out some new locations, spent a few minutes in some FREEZING cold water, and got some amazing shots! Check out this beautiful lady!

Dale and Lindsay . . . and Baby | Fort Monroe, Virginia

I cannot believe Lindsay and Dale are about to be parents here seen! It is so exciting and wonderful. As I was driving to their shoot, I couldn't help but to think about how far they have come, I may have even shed a tear. I've known Lindsay since high school, and I think Dale since our senior year or the following, whenever we all worked at the fabulous OPCW!

I remember sitting among the rows of people at their wedding watching them exchange their vows, and now, now I'm able to share this new season of their life with them by capturing it on camera. It is truly a blessing to watch your friends grow and move into new seasons of their lives. I'm beyond excited for them and for their new roles as parents. They will make amazing parents, this little girl is already so loved. I can't wait to meet her!

The three of us took a little trip around Fort Monroe a little awhile ago to capture a couple pictures of Lindsay's growing belly! Aren't the shoes and that onesie absolutely adorable!! Gosh!

The Original Franks | Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia

I convinced my sister in law to allow me to take their latest family photos. Don't I have some adorable nieces and one very handsome nephew?

Nick and I ventured up to Colonial Williamsburg to meet Thad, Eliz and the kids, and of course they were dressed in some adorable outfits. It was already after 5pm, but it was still miserably hot, but thankfully, you would never know. Nick has a way with kids, and can make even the most serious of them laugh, which was very helpful on a hot day like that.

But despite the hot temperatures, the lighting was gorgeous and so is this family!

The Lorenti Women | Newport News, Virginia

As Lydia prepares to graduate from high school, Persis contacted me about taking a few pictures of her in her cap and gown. And of course, we had to throw in some pictures of momma and her graduate! I love these ladies, they are just a ball to be around!

Haughton Maternity | Yorktown, Virginia

I am so excited for Alex and Lauren - I am beyond excited for Alex and Lauren and I praise God everyday for getting them to this point in their lives. For years this couple has dreamed of a child of their own to hold and love and raise, and for a few years now this has been a struggle. Lauren gave birth to their daughter Kendall on our wedding day at around 20 weeks (I'm not too certain the exact week). It was a sad day, this precious little one would never get to experience this world and experience the love her parents have for her and these parents would never get to watch her grow up, teach her how to sing her ABC's or how to ride a bike. But God, as amazing as he is, saw them through that trial, allowed all of us around them to be there for them, and here we are today as they prepare to welcome their second baby girl, Kaylee Grace into this world. I have been praying and holding my breathe constantly, anxiously awaiting the arrival of this little girl and I am honored that I was able to capture these photographs of this growing little family. I love you Lauren and Alex, and Kaylee Grace!!

Annika Turns One | Fort Monroe, Virginia

Oh I love this sweet little girl! It is hard to believe she is already a year old, crazy! It has been a fun year watching her grow, there is never a dull moment with her around. She has turned into a walking, semi-talking, funny face making machine! And if you need her attention, just go "YAY!" - it makes everything great! Here are some pictures from her one year mini session we did last week.

A Sunny Suffolk Family | Suffolk, Virginia

Mike and Rebecca has been so kind in allowing me to capture some important moments in their life here lately. I took their maternity photos in the freezing cold of February right before little Jack made his appearance, and then took some in home photos of Jack once he graced us with his presence. That kid is beyond cute!

One Saturday in June, I ventured out to Suffolk to Rebecca's parent's home to capture some photos of her whole family. It was such a fun shoot and her parent's yard is amazing! There was so much there, and I love the farmer style shots! It was such a fun family to work with and I'm thankful they allowed me to capture these photos.

Paul and Erika | Yorktown, Virginia

Let me introduce you to Paul and Erika, two dear friends of ours. They are a lovely couple, full of life and . . . very photogenic! The other day I met up with them at Yorktown Beach to take one photo for their Adoption Fundraising Campaign (visit http://speight-family.blogspot.com to learn more about it!) and we ended up taking a few more pictures to fill some empty frames Erika had hanging up. I'm so excited to see where God takes them in life in the next few years, to see the baby/child he gives them and so much more!
