The Roberts Girls | Fort Monroe, Virginia

My second shoot on Friday afternoon was the adorable little Roberts girls. We used Fort Monroe as the backdrop and were seriously chasing the light. They girls were too cute for words! They were wearing their fancy little dresses and had on some killer cowboy boots! We ended the evening with some beach shots as the sun set, and it was just an all around fun afternoon/evening walking around with them and Julie! Here are some shots!

The Uhler's | Fort Monroe, Virginia

This past Friday I met up with a wonderful family, the Uhler's. Nick and I know Ross and Emily from our church, Grace Baptist Chapel. They are wonderful people and a joy to be around. Emily and I had been discussing their session for a week or so, and she really wanted to do a beach session since they were stationed so close to one. At first we discussed Yorktown, but the more I thought about it, I figured Fort Monroe might be a better fit. You get the beach aspect of Hampton Roads and you get the historical aspect of this great fort.

So I met up with them and their five wonderful little ones (well some are not-so little). We snapped some shots along the beach, taking a few quick and impromptu breaks here and there as two little ones made a break for the waves, and then continued once they had been captured. After we finished up at the beach we ventured over to explore inside the moat and let their four boys loose. I think that part of the shoot was perfect for them! They are such a fun family, full of laughter and jokes and it made this what could have been an intimidating session due to size, so, so easy to do! Here are a couple of shots from that day.

A Parolisi Christmas | Newport News, Virginia

Saturday afternoon Rebecca and I planned a little mini session for their Christmas cards at the Mariners' Museum. It was the perfect day for it! It was cool enough to where you could wear winter clothes, but warm enough to where you weren't freezing your tush off (which, for their maternity pictures - we had to snap quickly so they could throw jackets back on!). It is so great every time I get to photograph this little family and it is such a joy watching Jack grow up! Here are a couple shots from that session.

The Ward Family | Williamsburg, Virginia

This past weekend Nick and I went up to Colonial Williamsburg with some friends of ours, Demetrius and LaTina to take some family pictures of them and their children, Gabby, DJ and Jordyn. It was a beautiful afternoon, but due to some scheduling conflicts earlier that day, we weren't left with very  much sunlight. We made the best of it though! And we brought Maggie along, which was not the wisest decision - she wasn't too fond of the cannons! Anyways, I was able to get some great shots of this wonderful family. I'm so thankful that we have them in our lives, they are such a joy to be around! Here are some shots from our afternoon in the Burg.

Meet the Staff of Hauser's Jewelers

This past Thursday I spent the morning with the fabulous staff of Hauser's Jewelers taking some new group and individual photos for their website and upcoming catalog. They are such a great team to work with and they are all so amazing!! Amy made this shoot so easy as well. We met the week before to discuss some ideas and her vision, and she made sure everyone was ready to go so we could breeze right through it before they opened. I can't wait to work some more with them in the upcoming weeks, but for now here is a little peek!

Apple Picking | Personal

Every year Nick and I venture up to Carter Mountain in Charlottesville, Virginia to go Apple Picking. It's a nice little day trip and we get to venture around the mountains of Virginia, something that we really enjoy doing. This past weekend we went up there with our friends Alex and Lauren, and their daughter Kaylee Grace. Last year Lauren went up there with us but poor Alex had to work, so he missed all the fun! A lot of things had changed there since last year, and I'm not going to lie, I was a little disappointed. So after we were done at Carter Mountain we drove along the Parkway, which was quite an adventure, but I will spare you all the details!

I just love the mountains though! There is something peaceful about driving through them and seeing the rest of the world from their point of view. You get to see the true beauty that God created, he truly is an artist and looking from a mountain top sure is proof of that! Here are some photos from our day.

I mean seriously, how amazing is this view!

Kristen | Yorktown, Virginia

I'm so thrilled to share these photos with you! Kristen is an amazing woman who I was lucky enough to get to meet four years ago when we started working together. August of 2012, we set out on a little adventure to capture some photos for her graduation announcements. She had just completed her Master's from CNU in teaching and was about to venture into a new season of her life as an elementary school teacher. We decided this August to go back to the pier where we had taken her photos the year before, to show some outward changes that have taken place, amazing changes! I'm so proud of her, but thankfully, she is still the same sweet friend she has always been. We also checked out some new locations, spent a few minutes in some FREEZING cold water, and got some amazing shots! Check out this beautiful lady!
